BMT joins forces with IFFS
BMT Fire & Rescue and Innovative Firefighting Solutions (IFFS) from Berlicum are to join forces. BMT will acquire IFFS, resulting in a complete and unique product package for safety regions and industrial fire brigades throughout Europe. IFFS will retain its name and employees.
While IFFS specialises mainly in pumpers, water transport systems and hose management systems, we focus on roll on/roll off containers, foam tenders, forest fire fighting trucks, rapid intervention vehicles and One Seven compressed air foam systems. Our products therefore complement each other perfectly. ‘We’re taking this step based on our conviction that one plus one makes at least two and a half,’ says BMT’s director and owner, Marco van Hulst. ‘We’ll be fully prepared for the future as a result.’
Greater impact
Marco looks forward to the partnership, which will see us double in size. Being able to make use of each other’s knowledge, expertise and network is a particular benefit. ‘The acquisition will give us greater impact,’ he explains. ‘It’s also a good way for us to create opportunities to expand our export branch. In short: this will help us to grow and to reinforce our market position. Naturally, the partnerships with French company Desautel and Spanish company VS Focum will continue unchanged.’
IFFS to relocate to Oss
IFFS director Stefan Govers is also confident about the future following the merger, even with the upcoming relocation. ‘It’s going to be quite a change of scenery, but it’s not a problem,’ says Stefan. ‘As we’re already growing out of our current premises, we’re rather looking forward to moving to the new BMT facilities. That will enable us to optimise our service on all fronts.’
The same DNA
Commercial director Mannus Bergboer also has an important role in ensuring that the merger proceeds smoothly. He has every confidence in the process. ‘IFFS and BMT share the same DNA,’ he says. ‘We’re both innovative, flexible, and typical Brabant family businesses. And we’ll be staying that way. I’m confident in speaking for everyone, when I say we’re really looking forward to this!’
