BMT supplies hose management container to New York Fire Department / Department of Homeland Security

Hose management container for holding and collecting 8" hoses (with couplings)

Commissioned by the New York Fire Department and the Department of Homeland Security, IFFS (part of BMT Fire & Rescue) has developed a Hose Management container for the storage and automatic intake of 5,500 feet of 8″ hoses.

The container features the 8″ IFFS Hoselifter hose retrieval system, which is electrohydraulically driven by the built-in generator feeding the hydraulic pump. Besides driving the hoselifter, the 2 roof hatches and the tailgate are also hydraulically operated.

The IFFS Hoselifter allows the 8″ hoses to be easily fed into the container with connected couplings. In addition, all other available space in the container is used for storage. At the front of the container are 2 cabinets and the lower cabinets under the hose storage are fitted with hose bridges for over the 8″ hoses. The other side is equipped with fixtures and fittings.
